Aqua Vega Aquarium is a large-scale aquarium located in the Mamak district of Ankara, bringing the world of marine life to the landlocked capital. It holds the distinction of being the second largest tunnel aquarium in Europe and the largest in Turkey.

About Aqua Vega Aquarium

Construction of the massive aquarium, which consists of 21 sections, was completed in one year. Built on an area of 5,000 square meters, the facility opened its doors to visitors on April 23, 2012.

The aquarium houses dozens of freshwater and saltwater species along with nearly 30 species of reptiles. Additionally, a salt cave inspired by the salt mines in Cankiri is open to visitors.

Floors and Sections

Aqua Vega Aquarium has 2 floors. The first floor features the following sections:

  • Adrenaline world and diving school
  • Salt cave
  • Aquariums and koi fish
  • Seashell museum
  • Photography areas
  • Pet shop, cafe, restaurant, and souvenir shop

The second floor houses the tunnel aquarium, amphitheater, touch pool, and Aqua Cafe.

How to Get There

Aqua Vega Aquarium is located in the Mamak district of Ankara. The distance between Mamak and Ankara Esenboga Airport is approximately 39 km. You can easily reach the aquarium by renting a car from ECOCAR's Esenboga Airport and Tunus Caddesi offices.
